This initiative emphasises the integration of Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies into undergraduate and graduate curricula, equipping students with essential knowledge and skills to succeed in the evolving field of biomedical engineering. Key objectives include modernising course content and integrating Industry 4.0/5.0 elements, introducing innovative virtual, augmented, and mixed reality lab sessions to enhance student learning, and offering new micro-credential Open Online Courses (OOCs) for current and future professionals. Additionally, BIOMED5.0 is focused on establishing a technology incubation hub to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in biomedical engineering. A novel aspect of BIOMED5.0 is its commitment to supporting the transformative skills and mental well-being of academic staff and students, addressing a long-standing need in Pakistani higher education institutions.
